Baptism is the first step of obedience! Baptism pictures the death and resurrection of Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) and illustrates the new life of a Christian. The Bible instructs believers to get baptized in order to follow Jesus' example, to obey Jesus' teaching, and to show that you're a Christian.
If you have decided to trust Christ alone for salvation, then you are ready to be baptized. Just as the bride and groom tell of their commitment to each other through the symbol of their wedding rings, you can publicly proclaim your relationship with Jesus Christ through baptism.
